Measuring Website Progress - Is This Website Succeeding?
Website's Traffic Progress
A graph that answers the question: What would the total traffic be if it had always been like the Last ## Days?

-
NOTES:
- The bar on the far left is the actual total traffic.
- An uptrend means that traffic is increasing. Website succeeding.
- A downtrend means that traffic is decreasing. Website failing.
- Please see post Increase Traffic Without Visitors for more details.
This graph takes recent traffic data and extrapolates what the total traffic would have been if all the previous traffic had been similar. For example if the traffic was 50 visitors yesterday then we can multiply that by the number of days the site has been live. This gives us an extrapolated value. We compare this against the actual total visitors (the first bar on the graph). If the extrapolated traffic is greater than the actual traffic that signifies that the traffic volume is increasing. If the extrapolated traffic is less than the actual traffic that signifies that the traffic volume is decreasing.
Website's Revenue Progress
A graph that answers the question: What would the total revenue be if it had always been like the Last ## Days?

-
NOTES:
- The bar on the far left is the actual total revenue.
- A uptrend means that revenue is increasing. Website succeeding.
- A downtrend means that revenue is decreasing. Website failing.
This graph takes recent revenue data and extrapolates what the total revenue would have been if all the previous revenue had been similar. For example if the revenue was $5.00 dollars yesterday then we can multiply that by the number of days the site has been live. This gives us an extrapolated value. We compare this against the actual total revenue (the first bar on the graph). If the extrapolated traffic is greater than the actual revenue that signifies that the revenue is increasing. If the extrapolated traffic is less than the actual revenue that signifies that the revenue is decreasing.
Hourly Wage Progress

-
NOTES:
- The bar on the far left is total average hourly wage.
- This graph should trend steeply upwards simply due to the nature of the business. At the beginning there was no traffic and no revenue, but many hours spent creating the website. Now the website is complete. Only minor updates are done and a few hours spent marketing. But revenue keeps increasing. My work goes down and revenue goes up - that is the nature of the website business.
- A uptrend means that I am getting paid more per hour. Website succeeding.
- A downtrend means that I am getting paid less per hour. Website failing.
This graph shows my average hourly wage in recent time periods. They are compared against my total average hourly wage (the first bar on the graph).
